The Arizona Department of Administration, Benefits Services Division is always looking for ways to enhance state employees’ access to health care, especially while at work. We are pleased to announce the launch of a pilot program with Maricopa County, that opens access for state employees to visit the Premise Health Care Center, located only one mile from the capitol mall.
Did you know that there are approximately 10,000 state employees that work near the capitol?
Did you know that according to Rideshare, state employees commute an average of 18.86 miles each way to work?
This distance inhibits employees that want to be seen by a medical professional for common colds and illnesses, but don’t want to drive to their primary care provider or wait weeks for an appointment.
Starting in Apri, 2016, state employees and their dependents can utilize the health care center, which provides the following services:
Acute medical services (e.g. common cold, bronchitis, ear infections, flu, pink eye, etc.)
The health center is conveniently located minutes from the capitol mall at 301 West Jefferson. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Appointments are highly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Six parking spots are reserved for health center patients, along the north side of Madison Avenue, between 4th and 5th avenues.
All State of Arizona insurance providers are accepted and the co-pay is the same as a regular office visit. The utilization of the health care center over the next 18 months will help us gauge the demand for this type of service for the capitol mall area and help determine next steps.
