New Hire Enrollment

New Hire Enrollment

Welcome to the State of Arizona! The State offers many benefits for our employees and their dependents. Be sure to share this information with your family. Remember, the new hire or rehire benefits enrollment deadline is 31 days after your hire date.

Notice: HRIS Y.E.S. System Closure - No Benefit Changes Permitted

From Tuesday, May 27, at 2 p.m. through Tuesday, June 3, the HRIS Y.E.S. system will be closed to allow the state to transition to the new AZ360 platform. During this period, you cannot make any benefit changes. On Wednesday, June 4, you can log in to the new system to make updates. There may be delays in processing, and we will honor any enrollment deadlines missed due to the closure period.

  • Recent New Hires or Qualified Life Events (QLEs): If you joined the State after April 26, 2025, and have not elected your benefits, or experienced a QLE, make your elections in Y.E.S. by Friday, May 23, to avoid missing the 31-day enrollment deadline from your hire date or QLE date.
  • Training Materials: Please visit AZ360.az.gov to explore training videos and guides to prepare for the new system. Everyone is expected to use these resources to support a smooth transition as we move all state employees to the new platform.

Be sure to share these quick overviews of our offerings with your family.

  • Note: Employees who are also spouses or dependents of State/University employees or retirees, please be advised that dual enrollment in State benefit plans is not permitted per the Dual Enrollment Policy. Please coordinate with your spouse or parent/guardian to prevent dual enrollment before enrolling in State benefits.

  • Basic Life: The State provides all employees $15,000 in Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage.
  • Supplemental Life: Additional insurance coverage that benefits-eligible employees can purchase. This is a voluntary benefit.
    • At the time of new hire only, you can purchase Supplemental Life coverage in multiples of $5,000, not to exceed the lesser of three times your annual earnings, to a maximum of $500,000.
    • If you decline the supplemental insurance at the time of your new hire enrollment, you may enroll during future annual open enrollment periods. However, you will only be able to add up to $20,000 annually in multiples of $5,000, not to exceed the lesser of three times your annual earnings, to a maximum of $500,000.
  • Beneficiaries - You can designate beneficiaries for Supplemental Life during enrollment. For Basic Life, add beneficiaries through “Manage Beneficiary Designation” under the “Benefits” tile in AZ360. You can use the same beneficiaries for both policies, or add new ones.
